Vernon County panel raises 2024 economic development operating budget, approves routine minutes and vouchers

John Pedretti moved to approve the June 1 meeting minutes; Lorn Goede seconded and the committee approved the minutes unanimously. Later in the meeting Tom Weston moved to approve monthly vouchers totaling $4,869.00; Lorn Goede seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
On the preliminary 2024 budget review, members noted the department's operating budget had not increased in nearly a decade. Rod Ofte moved to raise the annual operating budget for the Economic Development Department from $35,000 to $40,000 for 2024; Gail Muller seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The committee asked Economic Development Director Christina Dollhausen to return with an updated draft budget that reflects partners' funding requests for 2024 so members can decide on partner support at a future meeting.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote to adjourn. The committee confirmed its next meeting for Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.
