Highway Superintendent Doug Cimpl updated the commission at the Nov. 24 meeting. The board approved Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 614910 from the South Dakota Department of Transportation related to Project No. ER6165(03) and authorized Chairman Neil Von Eschen to sign the agreement by motion of Commissioner Keith Mushitz, seconded by Vice-Chairman Nick Stotz.
The commission also approved an application from Golden West Telecommunications for occupancy on the right of way of county highways to place a telecommunications cabinet intended to boost service; the motion carried. In surplus property action, sealed bids for surplus tin were opened (Phil Kafka bid $1,200; Steven Horst bid $300). The board accepted Phil Kafka’s $1,200 bid; no further conditions are recorded in the minutes.
Highway Superintendent Cimpl reported that no bids were received for a motograder blade; commissioners advised him to contact Butler Machinery. The minutes record these transportation and equipment items as approved or noted by unanimous vote.
