Goodhue County Board approves proclamation, pre-orders plow truck and signs off on CAMA reconversion

In routine business the board approved the consent agenda as amended after County Administrator Scott O. Arneson asked that the item to approve a Cannabis Retail Registration Application be removed from the consent agenda. The consent package included approval of the 2026 Federal Boating Safety Supplemental Equipment Grant contract and the 2025 County Feedlot Annual Report, as well as a tuition reimbursement request for H. Carlson in the IT Department.
On budget and capital items, the Budget Committee recommended and the board approved an out‑of‑state travel request for Investigator Tyler Rogers to attend the Mid‑States Organized Crime Information Center conference in Branson, Missouri, Sept. 1–3, 2026 (motion carried 5‑0). The board also approved pre‑ordering a tandem plow truck included in the 2027 Capital Plan for delivery in 2027 (motion carried 5‑0).
The Personnel Committee’s recommendation to hire two summer employees for the Sheriff’s Office Boat and Water Division within current funding levels was approved unanimously (motion carried 5‑0). The Land Use Management Director provided an update on enforcement activity at 4659 Scout Ridge Way in Cannon Falls and reported no board action was needed at this time.
Finance staff presented a quote from Tyler Technologies to reconvert the county’s property appraisal software to the CAMA Lite solution; the board approved that quote (motion carried 5‑0).
