Board awards $56,894 quote to GasVoda for Lift Station No. 2 control-panel upgrade

The sanitation board voted to award a $56,894 quote to GasVoda to replace the control panel at Lift Station No. 2, a project the board described as necessary to restore flow-metering and reliable communications.

The chair moved the action forward after the vendor’s bid was reviewed and discussed; the board conditioned the award on legal review and on remote member Clay’s technical review. "So a motion to award the quote to Gas Voda for the lift station number 2 upgrades in the amount of $56,894 contingent on the attorney review, and when that's okay, authorization for the president to sign," the chair said. Committee member (speaker 4) moved the motion and the chair seconded; the board voted "Aye" and the motion carried.

Why it matters: the board said the Westport flow meter is currently down and that the control panel replacement is a high-priority capital fix. Staff and members discussed lead times and alternatives: the quote lists six to eight weeks after receipt of order to start and estimated delivery at 14–16 weeks, and the board reviewed an optional $1,000 dialer-change add-on the board did not favor.

What the board asked staff to do: board members directed staff to ask GasVoda to add annual load-banking to the contract language and to send any revised contract to Clay for review before the president signs. The chair said the attorney should review the contract language before final execution.

Next steps: staff will obtain the revised contract, circulate it to board members and Clay for technical review, and return the item to the agenda for authorization to sign after attorney clearance.
