Four baby falcons have hatched in a nest outside Aurora City Hall, and the City of Aurora is inviting the public to help name the chicks.
"4 baby falcons have hatched at Aurora's city hall, and now you can help to name them," the Presenter said, announcing the new arrivals and the naming contest.
According to on-air remarks, two chicks hatched on Friday and the other two hatched the following day. The city has set up a 24-hour falcon camera so residents can watch the nest and the chicks as they grow.
The Reporter added that the mother, called Vixen, began nesting in a crevice on the building’s second floor in April, and noted, "Dad, apparently, his name is Dave." On-air commentary around the parents' names was lighthearted.
The city is accepting name nominations on its website through May 11. The top 10 submissions will be selected and then put to a public vote, the Presenter said.
No formal city action beyond the contest and the falcon cam was announced.
