Torrington, Wyo. — The Torrington City Council on May 5 approved Amendment No. 6 to the professional services agreement with Inberg Miller Engineers (IME) for landfill well monitoring and related services, allocating $41,980 to be included in the fiscal 2027 sanitation budget.
Public works director Jeff Harkins told the council the amendment covers the annual required well monitoring, testing and state reporting to the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). He said the estimated base cost for monitoring and reporting is $31,980 and an additional $10,000 is included for as‑needed surveying or permitting tasks during the year.
Harkins said the work normally consists of two sampling events annually and the reporting of results to Wyoming DEQ. Council members asked clarifying questions and then moved to approve the amendment; the motion carried by voice vote.
What happens next: staff will include the $41,980 in FY27 account 5445740 (sanitation) and schedule the sampling/reporting events with IME.
