Torrington, Wyo. — The Torrington City Council on May 5 approved a final plat for the DSI Subdivision and approved, on first reading, an ordinance to amend the municipal zoning map for the new lots.
Staff planner Dennis Estes told the council the plat “has not changed since you’ve seen it last” and that staff recommends approval; there had been no public comment on the final plat. Councilman Victorin moved approval of the final plat; the motion passed by voice vote.
City attorney Eddington read a proposed ordinance to amend the Torrington Municipal Code and assign I‑1 zoning to Lot 1 and C‑1 zoning to Lot 2 of the DSI Subdivision. Staff explained the two zoning designations are intended to accommodate different future uses on the separate lots (light industrial uses on the lower/south lot and professional/office uses on the upper/north lot). The council approved the ordinance on first reading.
What happens next: with the final plat approved, the owner may proceed with marketing or sale of the subdivided lots; zoning will be adopted per the ordinance process (it passed first reading and will return for subsequent readings as required).
