Henry County commissioners approve budget adjustments, contracts and resurfacing payment; courthouse bids tabled

Commissioner Brubaker moved and Commissioner Joel Miller seconded to approve a general services agreement with Mannik & Smith Group for the Henry County Engineer's office not to exceed $45,000 through July 31, 2026 (Resolution D); the motion carried unanimously.
The board approved an agreement for emergency management services with the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) and the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) for 2026 after a motion by Commissioner Brubaker and second by Commissioner Glenn Miller (Resolution E). The board also approved payment to Gerken Paving in the amount of $60,152.53 for the 2025 Resurfacing Program (Resolution F); that motion was made by Commissioner Brubaker and seconded by Commissioner Glenn Miller and passed unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting Angela Sosebee provided a Senior Center update noting that blinds were ordered for the Senior Center, a Veterans meal is planned for Nov. 10, and an evening meal and quilt show are scheduled for Nov. 19; written reports were attached to the minutes. Cameron Caryer provided a brief update on a Corsa renewal; the transcript records that an update was given but does not include further contract details.
The board recessed at about 11:35 a.m. so Commissioners Joel Miller and G. Jeff Brubaker could attend a land bank meeting and the session adjourned at 11:51 a.m. Kristi Schultheis attested the minutes as clerk.
