The town’s market‑pay study was presented May 4 by consultant Matt Rees and introduced by Human Resources Director Moody. Rees said the study uses entry‑level and average pay comparisons and a job content methodology to assign classes to grades and recommended moving the town’s market alignment toward 105% of entry‑level market pay.
Rees said the work reviewed 149 classes; 36 classes were identified as needing adjustment and seven of 24 banded director/assistant director positions showed movement. He estimated the general pay plan implications at about $202,000 for the general pay plan and cited a separate figure of roughly $241,000 described in the presentation; staff described ongoing maintenance of pay bands and a cap on individual adjustments tied to grade midpoints.
Commissioners thanked staff for the work and noted retention and competitiveness as drivers for the adjustments. No action was required at the meeting; the board received the presentation as information.
