The Erie Planning Commission on March 18 discussed timing and preparation for a joint study session with Town Council on UDC revisions related to affordable housing and the Prop 123 fast-track.
Chair Henfeld described the item as "a quick update of the joint study session and talking about, the fast track with town council," and said the meeting dates have shifted: the original joint session date was moved from mid-January to April 7 and is now planned for June 2. Henfeld said the commission will meet with the new council or new commission on May 20 to prepare for that joint session.
Kelly Driscoll, deputy director, told commissioners that council had narrowed 11 applicants to six for interviews and that the new commission's first meeting is expected May 20; she said interviews are scheduled in April and dates could change depending on agenda needs. A commissioner noted they are in contact with the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) for state-level updates.
No formal action was taken on the Prop 123 discussion; staff will provide a fuller briefing at a future meeting and in advance of the May 20 preparations.
