Woodinville extends interim inclusionary zoning regulations for six months

Woodinville City Council voted unanimously April 21 to adopt Ordinance 808, extending interim inclusionary zoning regulations for an additional six months while staff and the Planning Commission continue work toward a permanent ordinance.
Planning staff described Ordinance 808 as the second extension of the interim rules. The presenter said the Planning Commission is working on permanent inclusionary zoning per the work plan and council direction, but "we do need a little bit more time in order to be able to complete that work," and therefore recommended a six-month extension.
Council opened the public hearing; no members of the public had signed up to testify and the hearing was closed. Deputy Mayor Randolph moved to "pass first reading, waive second reading, and adopt ordinance number 808 extending for an additional 6 months the interim inclusionary zoning regulations originally adopted under number 786, now passed as 808." The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Staff said they will continue to work with the Planning Commission on the permanent rules and will return to council when work is complete.
