The North Wasco County School District board unanimously approved appointments to the district budget committee at its March 12 meeting, seating three new electors and extending two existing terms.
Director (name not specified) moved to appoint Liliana Narciso Garcia, Karen Long and Jeff Kochenour to three-year elector terms on the district budget committee, with terms expiring June 30, 2028. The motion also extended the terms of Jennifer Gunter and Simi Schultz by one year, to June 30, 2026. The board voted in favor without opposition.
The motion cited ORS 294.414, which governs appointment of electors to a local budget committee and requires an equal number of governing-body members and appointed electors. Staff said the district had received three qualified applications and that two electors whose terms had expired agreed to serve another year. No public comment was recorded on the appointments.
Board members characterized the volunteers as "brave" community members and said they looked forward to meeting them. The board set no additional conditions on the appointments and did not schedule a separate confirmation vote.
