Committee members reviewed results from a transportation request for proposals and other forthcoming solicitations.
Marce, a staff member, told the committee the RFP was due in February and produced two responses. “We received 2 responses. We are currently in negotiations with Ryker. They were one of the responders and we had 2 declines due to timing,” Marce said. She added the district may issue a transportation RFP in the fall in future cycles to improve vendor participation.
The committee asked who the other respondent was; Marce said the other proposer was Hotkey (spelled in the transcript as Hotkey / Kottke). She said negotiations are ongoing and the plan is to present an agreement at the April board meeting if terms are settled.
Marce also previewed additional upcoming solicitations, including RFPs for school portraits and an audit (both not done in recent years) and noted buildings and grounds is preparing a snow-removal RFP. Committee members said the heads-up would avoid surprise when agreements appear before the board.
Next steps: staff will continue negotiations with the transportation vendor and aim to present a recommendation to the board in April; additional RFPs will be issued and brought to the board as agreements are ready.
