Superintendent Dr. Wiesman presented an update on a freshman-advisory design team and the district's recently received Panorama student-perception survey results.
He described a conceptual "arc of a program" that would give freshmen consistent supports across the school year. "...what they're calling the arc of a program or an experience... eventually what we hope to propose is something that has a weekly cadence of basically, like, every Monday, here's some consistent ways to approach a Monday..." he said, describing study-skill focus on some days and passion-project work on others. The design team also proposed occasional parent presentations so students demonstrate progress to families.
Dr. Wiesman said the plan remains conceptual and recommended curriculum-development work over the summer so teachers can build concrete materials and the district can return to the board with a defined program.
