Council agrees to surplus Johnson Park scoreboard and relocate Jess Roeger memorial panel to Miller Park

Parks presenter Mr. Schugel said the Johnson Park board is being replaced with a digital board purchased by the baseball association, which will install the new board and take down the old one. He said the memorial panel will fit Miller Park's existing scoreboard and that staff had discussed the relocation with the Royger family. Mr. Schugel noted that the city's donation policy anticipates that memorial structures may be moved during future park redevelopment and that memorials are not guaranteed permanent placement.
Councilor (voice 6) moved to declare the Johnson Park scoreboard surplus pursuant to city code 2.75, subdivision 3; after brief discussion the motion carried by voice vote.
The council recorded no public objections on the record during the meeting; staff said the baseball association purchased the replacement scoreboard and would install the memorial panel at Miller Park without additional cost to the city.
