Senate Transportation Committee advances two Board of Marine Pilots nominees to joint session

Chair Senator Bjorkman said committee members had received the nominees’ qualifications and resumes and that neither Angel Holbrook nor Colin Maynard had been asked by the committee to appear for questioning. After opening public testimony and hearing none, a committee member moved to forward the two nominees to the joint session; the chair called for objections and received none, and the nomination report was signed and forwarded.
Representative process aside, Bjorkman cautioned members that "a signature on this report does not reflect an intent by any of the individuals to vote for or against the confirmation of these nominees during any further sessions," underscoring that forwarding the nominations is a procedural step rather than a final confirmation.
The committee took a brief recess to sign paperwork and then returned to the record to continue the meeting's agenda. The nominations will next be considered in the Legislature’s joint session on a date to be scheduled.
