The Story City Council on May 4 approved two construction pay applications and the sale of a city-owned jet trailer. Councilperson Ostrem moved and Councilperson Phillips seconded approval of Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrade Pay Application No. 22 for $1,133,176.15 payable to Gridor Construction and Rich Olive Street Improvements Project Pay Application No. 6 for $11,169.55 payable to Gehrke, Inc.; the motion passed 4-0.
Later in the Administrative Items the council approved a sale of a jet trailer as presented, accepting $3,500 from Hills Backhoe & Tiling. The sale motion was made by Councilperson Solberg and seconded by Councilperson O’Connor and carried unanimously.
The meeting record lists the pay application numbers, payees and exact dollar amounts but does not include further project details such as retainage, percent complete, or contract change-order specifics in the public minutes. Council approval authorized the payments as recorded.
These approvals advance the Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade and the Rich Olive street work by authorizing payment against the contractors’ submitted applications. The sale of the jet trailer removes the item from city equipment inventory and transfers ownership to the purchaser at the authorized price.
