North Aurora board approves higher water rates, adopts FY2026-27 budget with small neighborhood-grant addition

The board approved a change that raises the bimonthly base for the first 3,000 gallons from $16 to $25 and increases the usage rate from $5.95 to $8.03 per 1,000 gallons for all usage over 3,000 gallons; the ordinance takes effect June 1, 2026.
Jason also presented the fiscal-year budget beginning June 1, 2026 and ending May 31, 2027. The board approved a final amendment to add $5,000 to the general fund for a potential neighborhood-beautification grant program (the transcript cites a $58,500 figure for that general-fund line). Board members said the budget had been reviewed at previous workshops and committee meetings.
