Commissions unanimously accept staff CIP recommendations; report received and filed

Both the Hermosa Beach Public Works Commission and the Parks & Recreation Commission voted on May 5 to accept staff recommendations for the FY 2026–27 Capital Improvement Program and to receive and file the staff report.
Motion and outcome: Commissioner Britton moved to accept staff’s recommendations as presented by Public Works staff; the motion was seconded and, after a voice vote, carried with all commissioners present voting in the affirmative. Parks & Recreation moved to duplicate the Public Works motion and likewise voted to accept the recommendations and receive and file the report.
What the motions mean: By approving staff recommendations and receiving the report, both advisory commissions have formally provided their feedback to City Council as the city moves toward budget adoption in June. Staff will use the commissions’ input to refine scopes, sequencing and funding assumptions before the council study session.
Vote record (as read aloud at the meeting): Public Works commissioners present voted "yes/aye" when polled by staff; Parks & Recreation commissioners present cast unanimous affirmative votes as well. No formal amendments were adopted during either vote.
Next procedural step: Staff will take commission recommendations to City Council for further consideration during upcoming budget hearings and will return to the commissions with fee recommendations and any grant‑related updates as timelines develop.
