The Riverview City Council on March 16 approved an extension of the 2025 Street Sectioning program contract with Savoni Cement Inc. for work on the 2026 street sectioning program.
Councilman Webb moved to approve the extension and Councilmember Gannaga supported the motion. The contract extension authorizes a base amount of $795,000 and a 10% contingency of $79,500 for a total authorization of $874,500. The council also approved engineering fees not to exceed $125,500 to cover field evaluation, marking, contract administration, inspection, testing and as-built documentation.
Mayor Swift presented the item and called for the council’s pleasure on the motion. Roll call recorded five yes votes from the members present (Mayor Swift; Councilmembers Webb, Williams, Pray and Gannaga). Councilwoman Clark and Councilmember O'Neil were excused. The motion carried.
The action authorizes staff to proceed with contract administration and to expend the contingency and engineering amount only as needed per normal procurement controls; the council did not add any conditions in the meeting record. The next procedural step is implementation by the public works department under the existing contract terms and the approved supplemental engineering authorization.
