School board approves field-house change order, ratifies multipurpose building bid and accepts South Fork Junior High as substantially complete

On a separate item, staff reported the apparent low bidder for the district multipurpose building was Macklin Construction at $2,919,000; staff said they had spoken with the bidder (McGlynn) and recommended entering into a contract. Doctor Ron McMorris moved to ratify the bids, Miss Cecil Harris seconded, and the board approved the ratification.
Jim Zilar of Zilar Architects asked the board to approve Change Order No. 4 for the South Fork Junior High School project; he described it as a credit of $15,990 that would reduce the original contract sum by $91,149.50 and produce a new contract price of $21,377,850. The board approved the credit by voice vote. Zilar then asked the board to accept South Fork Junior High School as substantially complete, noting remaining punch‑list items were chiefly cleaning and minor repairs and praising Weatherblunt Corporation's construction work; the board approved substantial completion.
