Council approves Reeds Landing final plat for 37 new lots on seven acres

The City Council approved the final plat for Reeds Landing Subdivision (Phase 1) on April 1.
Miss Stewart presented the plat and showed maps of the vicinity north of Highway 44 by Cemetery Road. She said the plat is zoned for a mix of townhomes (multifamily) and R-3 single-family lots and contains "25 townhome lots, 12 single family home lots, and 6 common lots on approximately 7 acres of land." Staff told the council all construction has been completed, fees paid, and that a small bond had been held to cover landscaping and a small asphalt patch related to utility work.
Council members asked questions about connectivity to an adjacent business park and whether a second exit would be added; staff said there will be a drive aisle that links commercial parcels and that future access to Highway 44 is expected from the commercial parcel to the west.
A council member moved to approve the final plat; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
What happens next: approval allows recording of the final plat so lots may be sold or developed. Staff noted street-name changes (Lionheart Street) had been completed and that two addresses were affected by the rename.
