The Bradley County Commission approved the previous meeting’s minutes and the consent agenda and then heard brief reports from individual commissioners and community members.
A motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded; the roll call returned 12 votes in favor and the motion carried with two members absent. The chair then presented the consent agenda (pages 3–8). Commissioners Thompson and Goins moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda, and the roll call showed 12 in favor, none opposed; two commissioners were absent.
During district reports, commissioners offered brief remarks: Commissioner College congratulated upcoming high-school graduates at Walker Valley, Bradley Central and Cleveland City; Commissioner Mason presented photos and described a recent cleanup project, saying crews removed roughly 50 dump-truck loads across about 1.5–2 acres and thanking staff; Commissioner Rogers recognized retiring Bradley Central girls basketball coach Jason Reuter for 16 seasons, 488 wins and multiple state championships.
In public comment, Bob Nipper invited commissioners to a Memorial Day celebration on May 25 at Waterville Baptist Church. Todd Bills spoke at length about the county landfill contract and fund handling and accused officials of wrongdoing; county officials disputed those claims and described how landfill-related funds have been used. The commission did not take formal action on the landfill matter during this meeting.
The chair announced the next work session for Monday, May 11 at noon and listed upcoming graduation events; the meeting adjourned.
