Commissioners authorize $2 million county match for $10 million SS4A grant application

Brandon from Engineering told the board he was seeking authorization for the chairman to sign Resolution 2026-5-05, which would allow Williams County to apply for a $10,000,000 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) implementation grant and commit $2,000,000 (20%) in county match over the next three years.
"We're going to be applying for $10,000,000 for the grant. The county has to commit $2,000,000 or 20% over the next 3 years for those projects," Brandon said, describing proposed intersection improvements, signage, curb realignment and other roadway work across the county.
After brief discussion and no objections, the board moved and unanimously authorized the chair to sign the resolution. County staff indicated the projects would include intersection and signage improvements, edge-line work and other roadway changes and that further design and engineering steps will follow if the grant is awarded.
