During its Dec. 23 meeting the Athens County Board of Commissioners approved a set of EMS personnel and equipment actions. The board approved the promotion of Paramedic Charles Dunlevy II to Captain at the Nelsonville Station (motion by Commissioner Adkins, second by Commissioner Chmiel) and accepted the resignation of Lieutenant Paramedic Kevin Kesterson following an executive session on EMS employment and discipline.
The board also authorized a $21,500 purchase to replace a boiler bladder from Davidson Bush and declared a Craftsman 42-inch riding mower at the Glouster EMS station surplus, authorizing sale by sealed bids with Chief Pyle to check whether county maintenance could reuse the unit before sale.
Commissioners discussed EMS phone inventory and procurement logistics; staff were directed to contact Freedomlinx to locate an outstanding invoice and consider issuing up to five spare handsets now, backfilling from a pending order when processed.
All motions carried unanimously, and records of personnel actions and procurement approvals are on file in the Commissioners' Office.
