Board approves vacation of Sanders Alley in Westminster after engineer's report and public support
Summary
Allen County commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 19 to vacate an alley between lot #5 and outlot No. 3 in the Town of Westminster (Resolution #117-26) after the County Engineer's report recommended approval and residents urged passage.
After a public hearing at 1 p.m., the Board of Allen County Commissioners adopted Resolution #117-26 to vacate an alley between lot #5 and outlot No. 3 of the Plat of the Town of Westminster.
Chad Scott presented an overview of the County Engineer's report and concluded there did not appear to be a reason to deny the petition. Residents Melissa Sanders Carrol, Sharon Sanders and Joe Sanders were present and Sharon Sanders expressly urged approval of the vacation. Commissioner Brian Winegardner moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Beth Seibert seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board recorded the hearing, adopted the resolution and directed the Clerk to process the necessary documents to effect the vacation in accordance with Section 5553 of the Ohio Revised Code.
