Ivins City Council unanimously certifies August 12 primary canvass

The Ivins City Council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance Number 20 20 five-nineteen, certifying the canvass report supplied by the Washington County Election Clerk for the municipal primary held Aug. 12, 2025. The Mayor opened the canvassing meeting, noted a county representative was present and that the canvass information was available on the county website.

The council considered the ordinance after the Mayor asked whether members wanted a report. The Mayor said Carrie had already circulated details and answered questions and that the information was available to anyone who inquired. ‘‘In the ordinance, we’re accepting the candidate’s report,’’ the Mayor said, noting the county clerk’s report lists the certified candidates.

A council member moved to approve the ordinance and another council member seconded. The Mayor called a roll-call vote; Councilmember Gillespie, Councilmember Barton, Councilmember Smith and Councilmember Scott each answered, ‘‘Aye.’’ The Mayor announced, ‘‘Motion carries unanimously.’’

The council had no further business. A motion to adjourn was made, seconded and carried, and the Mayor closed the meeting.

The ordinance certifies the municipal primary canvass as provided by the Washington County Election Clerk.
