The presenter said, "Our current cash position is sitting right at 2,400,000," and outlined projected payroll ($1,350,000), operating expenses ($600,000), and total projected expenses ($1,950,000) against projected revenues of about $700,000 and projected tax revenue near $1.3 million. Staff noted the district was performing above projection for income in the second quarter (61% vs. an expected 50%) and that payroll and overall expenses were running below earlier projections.
The chair raised the possible need to share the cost of the county 911 dispatch, saying the service is currently "100% born through the county budget to the county sheriff's office currently" and recommending legal review before any outreach to partner agencies. Commissioners agreed a workshop with partner agencies could follow if legal advice shows the county may seek cost-sharing based on usage. No formal action was taken during the meeting.
