At the March 5 meeting, Police Chief Brian told trustees the department received a Department of Transportation preliminary breath testing unit (roughly $700) to replace older equipment.
Chief Brian also reviewed ongoing concerns about student pick-up and drop-off congestion near Hortonville schools and the challenges posed by increased parent-driven traffic and higher student populations. He said staff had reviewed each school’s drop-off/pick-up configuration and suggested a combination of increased supervision, repeat-offender reporting and continued committee work to identify longer-term changes.
Board members noted that previous changes at other districts — including construction and rerouting — had eased congestion and suggested the village might form a working group to evaluate potential changes. No formal motion or additional funding was approved at the meeting.
