Boone council sets April public hearings on 2027 capital plan and tax levy

The City of Boone council voted to set two public hearings on April 6, 2026: one at 6 p.m. to consider adoption of the fiscal year 2027 Capital Improvement Plan and one at 5 p.m. to consider the proposed FY2027 tax levy.
City administrator Andrea moved that the hearings be set and the motion was put to a roll call and approved. Council members recorded their responses during the roll call, and the mayor announced the hearing times and that the tax-levy proposal would be presented at the hearing.
The hearings will give Boone residents an opportunity to review proposed capital projects and to comment on the proposed tax levy before the council moves to adopt the budget and levy. Notices and hearing details were placed on the council desk during the meeting.
If council proceeds with the advertised levy at the hearing, state notice requirements will govern the subsequent adoption process.
