Littleton TMB elects Derek Mills chair, names Josh Stewart vice chair and selects CIP representative

The Transportation & Mobility Advisory Board unanimously elected Derek Mills as its chair and Josh Stewart as vice chair during an organizational session where members also named a representative for the capital improvement sales tax oversight board.

Mills, a Littleton resident and professional civil engineer, accepted the nomination and was chosen by a show of hands. Josh Stewart, who said he has served on the board for one year, was nominated and approved as vice chair with unanimous support.

Robert Reichardt, the council liaison who described his role as District 2 representative, explained that the capital improvement sales tax board (charged with twice-yearly review of how the 3/4-cent sales tax is spent) meets April 30 and May 21. The board voted to appoint a member (Evans was named in the motion) as the jurisdictional representative and discussed naming alternates when members are unavailable for specific dates.

Staff explained the nomination and vote procedures before each election and noted the transitions will change who chairs the remainder of the meeting. The board also agreed that Colleen, who will be providing new-member training remotely, will contact remaining untrained members individually to complete onboarding.

The new leadership will meet with staff to set agendas for future TMB meetings and help guide the Transportation Master Plan update process.

The board adjourned the orientation portion of the meeting and reconvened under Chair Mills to continue the regular agenda.
