Lake group proposes designated wake-boat zones; town approves education effort

Beckwith said the group worked with Surf-Sconsin enthusiasts to develop suggested guidelines and plans to inform boaters through kiosk signage and QR-code links to maps at public landings. He emphasized the effort is intended as education and outreach; the board noted the recommendations are not enforceable because no ordinance is in place and agreed to let the association proceed with developing education tools.
The board’s decision permits the association to pursue outreach and informational signage; any enforcement would require a formal ordinance or regulatory action that was not proposed or adopted at the meeting.
