The Coweta Industrial Development Authority on March 2 approved the date and location for the 2026 Coweta Patriotic Festival and authorized the Trust Manager to execute contracts for the event within a $30,000 budget. Trust Manager Julie Casteen led the staff presentation and asked the board to approve the location and permit her to sign contracts necessary to stage the festival.
Trustee Naomi Hogue moved to approve the festival date, location and contracting authority; Trustee Jeremy Barnett seconded the motion. The five trustees—Naomi Hogue, Jeremy Barnett, Daniel Beatie, Joshua Wilburn and Donald Vieth—voted aye and the motion carried.
The funds for festival expenses were identified as coming from accounts 40-5222-140 and 40-5325-140. The board did not specify a vendor or venue name beyond the approved location; details of individual contracts and vendor selections remain to be executed by the Trust Manager under the approved budget authority.
The authorization gives the Trust Manager the ability to finalize agreements required to produce the festival within the $30,000 limit. The board did not take any additional action on related line-item allocations at the meeting.
