Town authorizes DOT application to remove dangerous Highway 70 snowmobile crossing

Cross Country Cruisers representatives asked the board to apply for a State Trunk Highway Connection to remove a dangerous snowmobile crossing on Highway 70 West at Niemi Drive. The club has been working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to eliminate the crossing; the town must apply to the DOT to establish the crossing.
On a motion by Supervisor Billy Fried, seconded by Supervisor Erika Petersen, the board authorized the chairman to sign the application and to apply for the State Trunk Highway Connection to eliminate the crossing near the carwash. The motion passed by voice vote.
