Minocqua board backs LWCF grant support, adopts 5-year park plan and approves public participation resolution

At its April 8 meeting the Minocqua Board of Supervisors adopted several park- and planning-related items: a resolution supporting the 2026 Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant application for Bearskin Park bathroom repairs/replacement (grant to fund 50% of the project); an amended 5-Year Park & Outdoor Recreation Plan including the town’s partnership with UTV and snowmobile clubs; and a resolution establishing a Public Participation Plan to guide the comprehensive plan update.
Director of Public Works Mark Pertile presented the LWCF resolution, explaining it satisfies grant application requirements for the Bearskin Park bathroom facility repair or replacement; the board adopted the resolution on motion by Supervisor Billy Fried, seconded by Supervisor Erika Petersen. Chairman Mark Hartzheim presented the park plan update as a formality required for some grants; the board added language acknowledging partnerships with UTV and snowmobile clubs and adopted the amended plan. The Public Participation Plan resolution was approved to ensure public hearings and meetings are included in the comprehensive plan update process.
All three items were adopted by voice vote; the minutes do not record roll-call tallies.
