Wellness Coalition seeks partnership to expand free health programs in Bullock County

Gandhi Daniels, executive director of the Wellness Coalition, told the Bullock County Commission on April 14 that the nonprofit — which operates in surrounding counties — wants to begin serving Bullock County residents and is seeking introductions to county partners.
“We’ve been around for 26 years,” Daniels said, describing free services including wellness case management for people with chronic conditions, lifestyle coaching classes and a CDC REACH initiative that supports nutrition, community design and breastfeeding support. Daniels requested a county contact who can work with the coalition on a community assessment of sidewalks, trails, lighting and lactation space needs.
Commissioners said they would introduce Daniels to local health partners, the hospital board, the city recreation department and other community groups. The chair also suggested connecting the coalition with the county pantry operator and the hospital board so the nonprofit can begin coordinated outreach and use a mobile health van the county owns.
No funding request was made; commissioners offered staff assistance in arranging local contacts and asked Daniels to stay for follow‑up after the meeting.
