Adams County EMS reports staffing and heating problems; board approves two part-time EMT hires

EMS Chief Dusty McCleese told the board the service ran 84 calls during the week under review, and that Station 400 experienced a brownout lasting about eight hours when numerous employees were ill. Heating systems are also out at Station 500 and heating issues persist at Station 100. Commissioner Kelly Jones asked Chief McCleese to provide the square footage of the attic at the relevant station so staff could evaluate spray-foam insulation as a potential remedy.
On the personnel side, the board approved hiring Clay Foul (Resolution No. 2026-043) and Brian Lawrence (Resolution No. 2026-044) as part-time Basic EMTs effective Feb. 2, 2026, at $16 per hour. Both motions passed on recorded unanimous votes.
