Adams County cites delays on Cherry Fork sewer, submits Locust Grove LOI and wins $1.25M for Winchester wastewater upgrade

Economic Development Director Paul Worley updated the commissioners on several water and wastewater projects in Adams County on Feb. 2.
Mr. Worley said weather events have delayed work on the Cherry Fork Sewer Project. He reported the county submitted a Letter of Intent for Locust Grove Sewer to the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission for potential funding.
The board was told the Winchester Wastewater Treatment Project received a $1,250,000 Community Project Fund award and that the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) approved $4,000,000 in principle forgiveness for the project. Water tower construction at the Winchester Industrial Park is scheduled to begin in May 2026. Worley also noted the Adams County Training Center has six students enrolled in the adult HVAC program.
