Adams County commissioners appoint Jones president, approve bills and courthouse maintenance contracts

After routine approvals of minutes, the commissioners voted unanimously to pay the bills presented for various county departments, which included line items for sheriff vehicle repairs, cellphone and copier services and other routine expenses. The agenda printout lists totals among the line items presented, for example $18,106.29 and $9,913.84 for grouped entries.
The board approved two courthouse maintenance agreements: an annual Otis Elevator Company maintenance contract for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026, in the amount of $10,016.64, and a quote from Hamco X‑Ray, Inc. for the 2026 preventative maintenance inspection and radiation‑safety survey of courthouse metal detectors for $1,425.00. Both contracts were approved by motions that passed on unanimous roll calls.
Commissioners also voted to enter executive session twice during the meeting — first under ORC 121.22(G)(1) to discuss certain personnel matters and later under ORC 121.22(G)(3) to discuss pending or imminent court action — with both sessions authorized by unanimous roll call votes. The board reconvened after each session and approved a personnel status change for Danyel McClanahan, moving her from full‑time Job and Family Services Fiscal Officer to full‑time Deputy Director effective Jan. 5, 2026.
The meeting closed after the board dealt with routine reports and public complaints and voted to adjourn.
