Adams County approves 2026 grants and renewals, including $190,206 for OSU Extension

The Adams County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved multiple 2026 grants, contracts and renewals during its Dec. 15, 2025 regular session.
President Barbara Moore Holt said the board approved a $190,206 grant to OSU Extension for 2026. The board also approved a $116,600 grant to the Adams County Soil and Water Conservation District, a $14,601 grant to the county Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and a $25,000 local grant to the Adams County Airport Authority.
The board renewed a contract with Adams Brown Community Action Partnership, Inc. (ABCAP) for Meals on Wheels services funded by the Senior Citizens Tax levy and renewed an agreement with the Adams County Senior Citizens Council, Inc. for 2026 services supported by the same levy. The board reappointed Sherry Larson to the Adams County Board of Developmental Disabilities for a term through Dec. 31, 2028.
All grant and renewal motions were approved by roll-call votes recorded as: Moore Holt, Aye; Jones, Aye; Hayslip, Aye. The OSU Extension award was recorded as Resolution No. 2025-532; the Soil & Water award as Resolution No. 2025-535; the EMA grant as Resolution No. 2025-533; the Airport Authority grant as Resolution No. 2025-534; and the ABCAP Meals on Wheels renewal as Resolution No. 2025-527.
Why it matters: these actions allocate county funds and levy revenues for county services in 2026, including senior services, emergency management and conservation programs. Several approvals were routine and passed unanimously with no extended discussion recorded.
What’s next: the county’s budget administrator reported projected revenues are less than projected appropriations for 2026; individual contracts and grants will proceed under the terms approved by the board.
