The Merrimack Valley School Board approved several routine items and policy updates during its May 4 meeting.
The board voted to: approve the minutes of its April 6 meeting; add a personnel update to the agenda (motion moved by Stacy and seconded by Laura); accept the finance manifest and journal entries; adopt three policies on second read (BEDG on minutes, EHLB on subpoenas, and JF on enrollment); and approve the annual general assurances required to receive federal funding.
Chair (speaker 2) led the motions and voice votes on the items. Lorna moved and Amanda seconded the slate of three policies, which passed by voice vote. The chair said she would sign the general assurances later to satisfy federal funding documentation requirements.
Board members voiced general agreement on the procedural items; no member recorded opposition during the public session votes captured on the meeting record. The board then moved to enter nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3 II(b) and (c); a roll call was taken and all present voted in favor to go into nonpublic session.
No substantive policy changes beyond the listed updates were adopted at the meeting; several other policies remain at first-read status for future consideration.
