Adams County commissioners approve bills, transfers and multiple departmental agreements

The Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine and departmental actions during its March 9 regular session.
Bills for payment were approved by roll call under Resolution No. 2026-086, covering departmental expenditures across Ambulance/EMS, Auditor, Commissioners, Courts, Dog & Kennel, Economic Development, Prosecutor, Sheriff, Title, Treasurer, Engineer and Job & Family Services, with a grand total of $156,100.39. The motion to approve bills was moved by Kelly Jones and seconded by Barbara Moore Holt; both commissioners present voted aye and Commissioner Jason Hayslip was recorded absent.
The board approved a supplemental transfer of funds for Human Resources under Resolution No. 2026-087, moving $500 from supplies to equipment and $100 from contract services to equipment. The board moved and seconded the action and approved it by roll call.
The board approved Resolution No. 2026-088 to lease commercial space in the Village of West Union for the Clerk of Courts Title Department for a two-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026; the contract is recorded in the contract journal. The board designated Human Resources Director Marla May as the official voting representative and Commissioner Kelly Jones as the alternate for the County Employee Benefit Consortium of Ohio (CEBCO) annual meeting under Resolution No. 2026-089.
Labor and settlement actions included approval of a tentative agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council, Inc., and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department as presented by Brett Geary of Clemans, Nelson and Associates (Resolution No. 2026-090). The board also authorized participation in the Six Remnant Defendants Opioid Settlement and authorized President Kelly Jones to sign the participation form (Resolution No. 2026-091).
All listed resolutions were approved by the two commissioners present; roll calls recorded Kelly Jones and Barbara Moore Holt voting aye and Jason Hayslip absent.
