Adams County signs one-year indigent defense agreement with Ohio Public Defender

The Board of Adams County Commissioners approved on April 13 a contract with the Office of the Ohio Public Defender to provide indigent defense services beginning July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2027.
Patrick Clark, representing the Ohio Public Defender’s Office, met with the board to review the agreement. Commissioner Barbara Moore Holt moved to enter into the agreement and Commissioner Jason Hayslip seconded; the motion passed on a unanimous roll call and the contract will be entered in the county’s contract journal (recorded as Resolution No. 2026-140).
No vote tallies beyond the unanimous result were recorded in the meeting minutes. The agreement covers representation of indigent defendants for the stated fiscal year.
