Adams County approves $37,457 TANF subgrant for Summer Youth Employment program

Job and Family Services officials told the Board of Adams County Commissioners on April 13 that the county’s mandated share for state fiscal year 2027 is $71,324 under ORC 5101.16 and OAC 5101:9-6-31, and presented a TANF Summer Youth Employment subgrant.
Deputy Director Danyel McClanahan explained program application availability at the JFS office, Ohio Means Jobs and local schools. The board approved a subgrant agreement with ABCEOI, Inc., the administrative agent for Ohio Means Jobs, for $37,457.00 for the Summer Youth Employment Program as recommended by JFS Director Angela Malott (recorded as Resolution No. 2026-135).
Commissioner Jason Hayslip moved the agreement and Commissioner Barbara Moore Holt seconded; the vote was unanimous.
The agreement will be recorded in the county’s contract journal. JFS officials said additional outreach materials and application locations are available locally.
