City attorneys described the mediated result: the city will receive $375,000 in total; the settlement lists contributions from TriScapes ($115,000), Matrix ($15,000), Crown (transcript alternately lists $15,000 or $50,000), Lowe’s ($120,000) and Jacobs ($75,000). The resolution before the council sought authorization to enter into the settlement agreement and accept the funds so the city can rebuild the pavilion.
Council discussion emphasized that the city expects contractor accountability for professional mistakes and the funds are intended to avoid using taxpayer dollars for rebuilding. A councilmember moved and the council approved the settlement resolution by voice vote.
The council then announced it would go into executive session to discuss potential litigation and land acquisition under the Georgia Open Meetings Act.
