Residents ask council to press golf‑course association after golf balls break windows on Woodward Road

"We live at 725 Woodward... we have a whole bunch of golf balls that just come flying into our yards," one speaker said. Another resident said a ball struck a contractor’s car and broke windows.
Councilors discussed possible remedies including additional netting, fencing, and asking the golf‑course association to add affected homes as additionally insured on the course’s policy. Councilman Apodia moved, and the council approved, a motion to send a formal letter to the association requesting action on netting and the condition of barriers; councilors said they would invite a representative to the June meeting if the association’s response is not satisfactory.
Council members noted the course has recently changed play patterns and that several trees near the houses had died, reducing natural protections. Residents said some existing netting serves only a few houses and that second shots from the hole travel over the nets. The council recorded the complaint and instructed staff to begin formal correspondence.
