The items included funds from industrial development initiative lines (VEDP grant matches returned or not used), a grant carry‑on trailer line, and an HVAC repairs line related to the sheriff’s office and judicial center. Cox also requested supplemental appropriations from the general fund totaling $184,566.75 to cover salary and wage costs across several departments, and presented two SRO grant de‑obligations ($22,573 and $40,415). The board moved and approved the de‑obligations and supplemental appropriations by voice vote.
In later business, the board approved a 5% increase to the interim county administrator’s compensation retroactive to March. That personnel motion carried by voice vote. The board also voted to authorize the chair (the motion named Timothy Tribbett) to represent the county in negotiations with the rescue squad and to settle the matter if possible during mediation.
Finance staff said some of the de‑obligated funds will be used to cover the AT Johnson remediation and that remaining balances will be handled in the next fiscal year budget process.
