Washington County commissioners approve agenda items including multiple appropriations, transfers and authorizations

On Nov. 13, 2025 the Washington County Board of Commissioners approved the meeting agenda, previous minutes, payment of bills, multiple additional appropriations and interdepartmental transfers, and authorized demolition, brownfield inventories and a change order; all roll-call votes were unanimous.
The Washington County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 13 approved a slate of routine agenda items including additional appropriations, transfers of funds between departmental accounts and several administrative authorizations.
Commissioner Eddie D. Place moved to approve the agenda and subsequent items, and Commissioner Charlie L. Schilling seconded. The board unanimously approved the agenda changes, dispensed with reading the Nov. 6 minutes and voted to pay the list of departmental bills on file with the commissioners’ office.
The board authorized multiple additional appropriations: $25,000 for the Commissioners’ account; $14,500 for the Building Department; $24,482.54 for the Jail; $10,000 for Sheriff Training; $200,000 and $150,000 to Behavioral Health Board accounts; and several appropriations for the County Home including $350,000 and smaller line items. Commissioners also approved transfers including $15,000 within I.T., $50,000 from an ARC Inspire Grant account to a related account, two Probate/Juvenile transfers totaling $38,682.01, and a $10,413 transfer within the Building Department.
The board approved three Then & Now certificates for payments to vendor Richard Roberts Jr., covering $1,260.00, $847.50 and $435.00. The meeting record shows each motion was made by Place, seconded by Schilling, and carried on unanimous roll call (Charlie L. Schilling aye; Eddie D. Place aye).
The meeting closed with an adjournment motion that carried unanimously. The commissioners said these routine authorizations support ongoing county operations and project work.
