Council unanimously annexes three Trussville Clay Road properties with housing stipulation

Councilor Brian Jackson moved and Councilor Kimberly Farr seconded a motion to annex three properties located at 5560, 5574 and 5616 Trussville Clay Road; Planning & Zoning had recommended approval with a stipulation prohibiting mobile or manufactured homes. Upon roll call, the council voted unanimously to adopt the annexation as Ordinance No. 2026-005-ANX.
Inspection Director J.R. Malchus had informed the council that the owner brought the properties up to code. Planning & Zoning had provided a unanimous favorable recommendation with the stated stipulation. The ordinance’s motion and roll-call approval were recorded in the meeting minutes; the annexation brings the A-1 zoned properties into the city with the land-use restriction specified by the council.
The council did not record any amendments to the stipulation in the March 10 minutes. Any land-use changes beyond the prohibition on mobile or manufactured homes will follow standard city procedures for zoning or conditional-use requests.
