Council President Dr. Titus opened the meeting by listing business before the council, and the clerk read each ordinance and the sponsorship. The first ordinance appropriated the state fire commissioner's grant to purchase protective equipment for the Bureau of Fire; the second accepted a small certified-local-government grant to support historic-preservation activities.
Councilors cast voice votes in favor with no recorded dissent. No amendments or separations were requested for these two items during the final-passage roll calls.
The council’s approval authorizes city staff to accept the funds and proceed with the purchases and related administrative steps. Timing for expenditure and any procurement steps will follow normal city procedures and the grant terms.
